My training methods are not only kind to your dog, but based in behavioral science and modern research. I will use positive reinforcement methods to motivate your dog to learn and behave in the ways we love most. Positive reinforcement is a reward-based training style derived from operant conditioning concepts in modern psychology. Positive reinforcement training teaches dogs how we want them to behave, rather than punishing them for behaving in ways we don't like. While fundamentally founded on science, most importantly, my approach embodies compassion, empathy, and love for dogs - and it works!
Caninekind does not use aversive training methods intended to teach dogs using fear and intimidation (e.g. shock, prong, and choke collars, and leash corrections). Research has shown that aversive training methods increase feelings of stress and pessimism in dogs, putting their overall welfare at risk.
My goal is to make life with the canine members of your family as fun and stress-free as possible for both you and your dog. Training with kindness builds your dog's confidence, trust, and happiness to promote a healthy companion relationship - after all, isn't that why you adopted a dog?
